When the Frederick Music scene represents, it truly does so in style. For the second year the Frederick Playlist organized a showcase of local bands playing original music in the tastefully art deco surroundings of the Weinberg Theater in the heart of Downtown. A turn out across all strata of Frederick's populace witnessed a high octane evening of music kicked off by the first hip-hop act to appear in the hallowed hall, Retro/Ricole Barnes. Ably followed by the beautiful Americana of Katie Powderly and the Unconditional Lovers, the indescribable but lovable Silent Old Mountains and headlined by Frederick stalwart, The Freddie Long Band. Freddie's appearance as a Frederick native who has played in the area for two decades, his "Mom, we finally made it to the Weinberg" introduction being especially enjoyable.
